Why Do Congregations Have Conflict?
Conflict is a natural and expected part of congregational life. Sometimes a conflict grows to the point where the congregation no longer knows how to handle it. The members feel as if the true mission for the church is not being carried out.

How Can the I-K Synod Help?
The I-K Synod Conflict Management Committee, established in 1991, is available to address the needs of congregations in conflict.
Members of the committee, both pastors and laypersons, are trained to use a model proven successful in many congregations.
Committee members serve as consultants for churches that request assistance from the synod.
