Called
to Give Stewardship Program
Please
read this first! There
is more material here than you need - while at the same time it has all that you
need. This is going to be easier than it looks! This is a step-by-step "cookbook"
style program. This
Biblically based Stewardship program is centered around Eugene Grimm's "Celebrate
Generosity Stewardship Program." It is not a difficult program to
implement and like all biblically based stewardship programs, it does not use
tricks, begging or guilt manipulation. Dr. Grimm has studied and taught stewardship
for many years and has found the best ways to help a congregation grow spiritually
and grow in stewardship.
"Celebrate Generosity" has been proven to be successful
IF YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER. Too often a congregation will decide
that they are in special circumstances and then they decide to do surgery on the
program; but they almost always remove a vital organ. If the program doesn't fail
after such surgery it does not achieve anywhere near the results it would have
otherwise. In
addition to Dr. Grimm's basic program are also included the following resources
which you may use to whatever extent that you wish to enhance the program in your
setting: The
I-K Synod Stewardship Core Values This is a list of the basic core stewardship
values of the Indiana-Kentucky synod. These capsulize the ideas behind the synod's
stewardship ideas and programs. Even by themselves these could be a good resource
for an adult discussion and study. They can also be a useful resource for preaching
and teaching. Celebrate
Generosity Program (Everything you need) The timeline begins on page 10
of that section. Stewardship
Program Implementation Guide This is an outline of the program with a
checklist. The idea of this part is to show the layout of the program and to make
it easier to carry out. This would be a good place to start. An
FAQ section This answers the most Frequently Asked Questions people have
about using this program. Newsletter
articles This is a small collection of articles that can be included in
newsletters. It is suggested that you find three to use for the months leading
up to the campaign and three to use in the following months.
Bulletin blurbs
These are for the Sunday bulletins and there are two sections in here. One section
is a collection of longer bulletin items and another section is shorter "bullets." Articles
for Leaders These are a few thought-producing articles for the leaders
of the congregation. They may be simply supplied to the leadership as mailings
or they could be a source of discussion for council meetings. Articles
for Pastors These are some articles to help inspire a pastor and encourage
some thoughts. Thank
you There are two things that churches don't do enough of - asking and
thanking. The thank-you section has principles and ideas for thanking the people
for all that they do for the ministry of your church. Indiana-Kentucky
