Positions up for election at the 2008 Synod Assembly

One four-year term for I-K Synod Treasurer (Nominations from the Synod Council Nominating Committee for this position must be forwarded to Joyce Kissel at jaker2@tds.net)

The I-K Synod Nominating Committee is responsible for nominating individuals for the following positions:

Three three-year terms for Synod Council Clergy at Large (Incumbent pastors Judy Follis, Angela Shannon, and Joe Trester are eligible for re-election)

Two four-year terms on Trinity Seminary Board; one male, one female (Incumbent lay male Gary Philpy is eligible for renomination.)

One six-year term Clergy at Large position for the Consultation Committee
One six-year term lay male for the Consultation Committee

One six-year term Clergy at Large position for the Discipline Committee
One six-year term Lay Male position for the Discipline Committee
One six-year term Lay Female position for the Discipline Committee

Three at large positions for the 2009 Churchwide Assembly:

Lay female Youth/Young Adult (Joyce Partyka from northwest Indiana was elected at the 2006 Synod Assembly, served in Chicago in 2007, and is eligible for renomination)

Lay Male Person of color or whose primary language is other than English (Hansel Ramathal from East Kentucky was elected in 2006, served in Chicago and is eligible for renomination)

Lay female Person of Color or whose primary language is other than English (Deysi Oehlman from Southeast Indiana was elected in 2006, but alternate Mary Hudson from Northeast Indiana served in Chicago and both are eligible for renomination.)

Conferences will nominate individuals for the following positions:
All currently serving are eligible for reelection; nominations to be forwarded to conference chairs or deans.

For Indiana-Kentucky Synod Council:

Evansville Conference: One three-year lay male
(Incumbent Jim Moore eligible for re-election)

Indianapolis Conference: One three-year lay female
(Incumbent Joyce Kissell eligible for re-election)

South Central Conference: One three-year lay male
(Incumbent Ken Gustafson eligible for re-election)

Churchwide Assembly Nominations by Conference(Two nominees are required for each of these positions.)

Clergy Positions: East Central Indiana, Lafayette, Northwest Indiana, South Central and Southeast Indiana Conferences (Pastors Jeff Gramza, Lowell Anderson, Andrew Bailey, Betsy Dartt, and Jeremy Russell, all elected by the 2006 Synod Assembly from those five conferences respectively and all of whom served at the 2007 Assembly in Chicago, all are eligible for renomination.)

Lay Female Positions: East Kentucky, Evansville and Northeast Indiana Conferences (Walda Helvie from East Kentucky and Melanie Freyberger from Evansville both were elected by the 2006 synod Assembly, served in Chicago and are are eligible for renomination; Eleanor Richter was elected in 2006, with Carla Overdahl being elected as the alternate from Northeast Indiana, but both were unable to serve in Chicago although both are eligible for renomination; Evansville alternate Lora Williams served in Chicago and also is eligible for renomination.)

Lay Male Positions: Indianapolis and North Central Conferences (Jim Swinford was elected from the Indianapolis conference, but alternate Phil Zillinger served in Chicago. Both are eligible for renomination, as is Marty Mielke from North Central, who was elected by the 2006 Synod Assembly and who served in 2007, in Chicago.)
