What's Formatta Filler 6.0
and why would I want to use it?

  1. You don't need to find a typewriter! Or write legibly! It can all be done on your Windows-based computer. (Note: Formatta Filler will not run on a Mac unless you have a Windows emulator.]
  2. You can spell check your responses.
  3. You can lock the form so no one but you can change the information contained within it
  4. You can e-mail these forms (as attachments) -- but please read the instructions for each form before doing so.

Instructions for Using Formatta Filler:
Follow the instructions below if Formatta Filler 6.0 is not already installed on your computer. It is recommended that you print these instructions for reference while installing the software.

  • Click on the link below to get the Formatta Filler 6.0 file.

  • A window will open asking what you want to do with the file, "Run this program from its current location" or "Save this program to disk". [Note: Your hard drive (usually "C:") is being called a disk. It is not necessary to save this file to a 3-1/2 inch floppy disk.] Save the file (FillerSetup.exe), noting the folder where it is being saved on your hard drive.

    Hint: Make this file easier to find.

    Instead of saving this file into whatever folder is the default folder for downloads, you may want to put it on your DESKTOP.

    (To put it on the desktop, after you have clicked "SAVE TO DISK" a second window will open which reads "SAVE AS" and then a second line which reads "SAVE IN." At the right end of that box is a small down arrow / triangle. Click that to open the drop-down menu and then highlight DESKTOP.

    Click "SAVE" and "FillerSetup.exe" will be saved to your DESKTOP and be much easier to find than if it were squirreled away in the deep recesses of your computer.)

  • Find the "FillerSetup.exe" icon in the folder where you just placed it (or your DESKTOP if you followed the suggestion above.)
  • Double-click the icon which will pop open a window reading, "Initializing Wise Installation Wizard." 
  • You should (of course....) read the License Agreement and then click "I ACCEPT"
  • In most cases (unless you really know what you're doing with computers), click the NEXT button when the Formatta Installation asks for the Destination Folder.
  • A window will momentarily open and install the Formatta Filler 6.0 program
  • You may choose to REGISTER your copy of Formatta Filler or you may SKIP.
  • A final window will open. Click FINISH to complete the installation.
  • Formatta Filler 6.0 opens and you're ready to download forms from the ELCA website. You can work on-line or save the form and work on it at your convenience.
